PDR training centres have opened across the world, and the core skills can be taught at an introductory level in about 3 to 5 days. Five days allows a little more time when it is not one-on-one training. Here is what a good introductory course should cover.
The core skills
- Introduction and history of PDR
- Finding the tip on bonnets, and working on stands
- Access points: how to get behind the panel
- Types of tools and how to use them
- Types of dents, dent counting and quotations
- Working on doors, roofs and guards
- Glue and pull on bonnets, then doors, roofs and guards
Advanced or longer courses
Repairing creases is usually left to more advanced or longer courses. It takes more practice on the metal before it is done well.
Certification
It is important to get a certificate of attainment at the end of the course, so you have a record of what you have been taught.
