Before you start learning dent recognition and quoting, have the basics ready: a PDR light (a fluorescent line light is preferred), a dent estimator, a panel or vehicle with hail dents, marking pens and a starter tool kit. If you use a panel, you will need a stand to hold it.
Use a car or panel that does not belong to someone you care about. The first practice session is for getting the early jitters out.
Expect mistakes and several months of tiring, repetitive practice. Staying focused on where the skill can take you is what carries people through.
